Lets help Ben fulfill his Bucket List
A while ago i posted an amazing self-penned story by Ben Hughes (link at the end of the post) who had received a Heart and Lung transplant at the QE Birmingham and had also recently married the love of his life Ayla.
Sadly Ben received the news that his new lungs were in chronic rejection and can not be cured. He has endured 10 weeks of radiotherapy to slow down the rejection process (yes, the very same treatment Donna received) and now needs constant oxygen and is in a wheelchair. They have since been told that Ben will be lucky to be here in 6 months time.
Amazingly Ben has managed to look past what may come and is instead concentrating on the now. Ben has devised his Bucket List and intends on completing it!
For those who don’t know, a bucket list is the ultimate run down of things to do before you die made famous by the 2007 film starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman (The Bucket List). Donna had one, and for the most part, she fulfilled it! (getting married was one of her achievements, skydiving was one of her ideas i thought she could save for later!!).
Ben’s list is quite comprehensive with wants and dreams from the simple ‘Frankie & Bennies’ and visiting Brighton right through to hosting a Radio show, writing a TV Show and meeting Marco Pierre White!
Some items have already been completed which include: Having a professional photoshoot, wedding vow renewal, Meeting Keith Lemon (OOOOooosh!!) and Eating Krispy Kreme Donuts!!
Not only that, Ben is making a big thing of the Organ Donation Campaign and is big style promoting Donna’s Dream (which may include us both in the Radio studio together!)
If you can help Ben (or know someone who can) complete his list please get in touch by contacting us HERE
You can also help spread the word by joining his Facebook Page Here ‘Bens Bucket List’ and sharing the link! The official website is HERE.
And, while your at it, please read this excellent self written story by Ben himself written earlier this year! Ben Hughes – Married in Slippers, Heart & Lungs and a bloke called Fergie
